of corporate-style waymarkers, site signs and distance markers designed to
reflect railway heritage and cultural links along the path

for promotion of the Society in all publicity and promotional material
issued by the councils
Access
- provide
appropriate access for disabled users and cyclists
- promote ‘safe cycling routes to school’, e.g. Cheddar–Draycott, Congresbury–Sandford/Churchill
Economic Regeneration
- promote
development of links with local businesses along the line, e.g. pubs,
B&B, cycle hire
- obtain
commitment of appropriate councils to provide capital funding to develop and
market this community/tourism asset
Management
- seek
appointment of dedicated project manager for path to co-ordinate/develop
community partnership and resolve access issues (abuse and conflicts of
interest)
- press
for ‘joined-up’ approach to management issues by North Somerset Council,
Somerset County Council and Sedgemoor and Mendip District Councils
- press
for agreed management plan with local authority through appropriate
consultation with the Society and its local branches and implementation of
this
Land Purchase
As
appropriate, such as station sites
Conservation Status
Emphasise
the importance of this land for conservation and its Local Nature Reserves
